ONE ANCHOR. FASTER INSTALLS.
STRONGER HOLDS.

Upgrade from wedge anchors with a faster, more efficient solution for concrete fastening.

Tapcon+® heavy-duty screw anchors tap threads directly into concrete with the patented Advanced Threadform — replacing expansion anchors, sleeves and lag shields with a single code-approved fastener. Cracked-concrete and seismic rated. American made.

BUILT IN THE USA. SPECIFIED ON THE TOUGHEST JOBSITES.

ONE ANCHOR — FEWER SKUS ON THE TRUCK

One Tapcon+ SKU replaces stock-outs of wedges, sleeves and lag shields across the most common heavy-duty applications:

  • Sill plates & ledger boards
  • Beams, columns & conveyors
  • Railings & stadium seating
  • Equipment & HVAC base mounts

ONE ANCHOR. FEWER SKUS. SIMPLER INVENTORY.

ENGINEERED & MANUFACTURED IN THE USA

Tapcon+ is engineered, heat-treated and manufactured in the United States — built to perform when supply matters most:

  • Reliable domestic supply
  • Tight tolerances on every batch
  • Consistent threadform & finish
  • Faster replenishment for distributors

BUILT HERE. AVAILABLE WHEN THE JOB CAN'T WAIT.

PROVEN, APPROVED, AND TRUSTED

Tapcon+ meets the strict standards modern jobsites and engineers demand:

  • Code-approved for cracked concrete & seismic (ICC-ES)
  • Full ESR documentation & submittal package
  • 2,500–8,500 psi concrete compressive strength range
  • Backed by decades of ITW fastening expertise

CONFIDENCE YOU CAN SPECIFY, SELL, AND INSTALL.

THE TAPCON+ ADVANTAGE

HOLDING POWER THAT PROTECTS YOUR BOTTOM LINE.

  • 30% less installation torque than the original Tapcon
  • 20% more holding power for heavy-duty applications
  • Up to 8,500 psi concrete compressive strength rated
  • Cracked-concrete & seismic approved (ICC-ES ESR)
  • Removable & reversible — no shields left in the wall

That means fewer call-backs, fewer rejections from the engineer of record, and faster installs on every floor.

DRILL. DRIVE. DONE.

A single-system install for concrete, block and brick — no setting tools, no shields, no expansion guesswork.

1

Drill

Hammer-drill the pilot hole to the spec'd diameter. Drill ¼" deeper than the embedment depth to clear dust.

2

Clean

Blow or brush the hole clear. Clean holes equal full pull-out values, every time.

3

Drive

Drive with an impact wrench or socket — the Hi-Lo threads cut their own grip. Do not over-torque.

Patented Advanced Threadform Technology™ — notched cutting teeth tap threads directly into hardened concrete, brick and block.

Common Questions

Tapcon+ are heavy-duty concrete screw anchors designed for high-performance fastening in cracked and uncracked concrete, including seismic applications. Made in the USA, they install 2–3× faster than traditional wedge anchors with no washers, nuts, or torque sequence required — just drill, clean, and drive. With up to 20% more holding power than expansion anchors and ICC approval for cracked and seismic conditions (ESR-3699), Tapcon+ is built for demanding structural applications like data centers, MEP systems, and industrial environments.

Yes. Tapcon+ concrete screw anchors are ICC-approved under Evaluation Service Report ESR-3699, covering use in uncracked concrete, cracked concrete, and seismic applications. This means Tapcon+ meets the code requirements structural engineers and project specifications demand on mission-critical installations like data centers — no additional testing or special approval needed on the job site.

Tapcon+ screw anchors offer several advantages over traditional wedge and sleeve anchors. Where wedge and sleeve anchors require multiple components — washers, nuts, and a precise torque sequence — Tapcon+ is a single-piece anchor that installs in three steps: drill, clean, and drive. This makes installation 2–3× faster and significantly reduces crew fatigue on high-volume jobs.

Unlike wedge and sleeve anchors, Tapcon+ creates no expansion stress on the concrete, which allows for closer edge distances and tighter anchor spacing — giving engineers and contractors more design flexibility. They are also fully removable, making them ideal for retrofit projects or installations that may need adjustment, whereas wedge anchors are permanent once set.

From a performance standpoint, Tapcon+ delivers up to 20% more holding power than expansion anchors and is ICC-approved for cracked concrete and seismic applications (ESR-3699) — a rating traditional wedge and sleeve anchors typically cannot meet.

Tapcon+ anchors are made from heat-treated carbon steel with a Blue Climaseal® coating that provides multi-stage corrosion protection. The Advanced Threadform Technology™ is engineered to cut cleanly into concrete without the need for expansion hardware.

Tapcon+ anchors are manufactured in the United States in Rosell, Illinois and are Buy America Build America (BABA) compliant.

Yes. Tapcon+ anchors are removable, making them a strong choice for installations that may require future adjustment, equipment relocation, or retrofit work. This is a key advantage over wedge anchors, which are permanent once installed.

It's worth noting that while Tapcon+ anchors are removable, they are not reusable — once removed, the anchor should be replaced with a new one.
